I wrote Work IN to help athletes harness recovery's superpowers and optimize everything that they do.
It’s a joy to see the book in athletes’ hands! Huge thank you to everyone who has bought Work IN, and for leading by example with #myworkIN as you put it into practice and recover for real. It’s so inspiring.
Now, we’re excited to introduce you to The Work IN Book Collection, a special Jasyoga Video series to use alongside the book. Or if you don't have the book, this collection will give you a great preview of what it's all about! I designed these videos to help to bring the book to life, connect the dots of real recovery, and optimize everything you do in sport and life. I hope they serve as a useful guide, and inspire you make the practical tools in the book part an integrated part of your daily routine.
All the Work IN videos include a pre/post practice check in — a pause to notice how you feel. These observations help you to establish a baseline of where you’re at, become more aware of the effects of your practice, absorb the benefits, and increase your motivation to continue.
Use these routines to Work IN:
- Extended Exhalation Breath — lengthen your exhale to calm your nervous system, helping you to slow your heart rate and relax.
- Recovery Visualization — especially in the times when you are struggling to transition from effort to ease, stop “trying” so hard to relax and use visualization to help you to get to the root of the resistance and dissolve it.
- Full Body Mobility — gently mobilize your body to increase fluidity to muscles, surrounding tissues, and joints to ease stiffness and restore range of motion.
- Recovery Boost — relax deeply using static (still) postures, making use of the wall as a prop, to open the body and encourage deep physical and mental relaxation.
